The beginning
My first trip to Morocco was in early 2017. Immediately the experience was mind blowing. The hospitality, the colours, the architecture, buzzle and landscapes were all so new and unique. The kind of reality I never knew existed.
First project, first cargo
In 2018 while I was doing interior for an event space I traveled to Morocco and ordered custom made Zellige mosaic tables. Besides the tables, I got excited in a local village market and also bought car full of rugs from local berbers. Sellers were mainly old Amazigh women, some of them wearing traditional face tattoos. They didn’t care about the numbers in decimals, the color of the note was the language we both understood. The bank notes were passed to oneanother until we found a price we agreed on.
Eventually the tables and rugs made their way to Finland. In the middle of the floor in my room there was a pile of rugs. I took an Instagram story in amusement. Suddenly many were genuinely interested in buying a rug. First batch was sold quickly, while some I kept to myself and gave as gifts.
The idea was rooted to my head:
One day I want to try to do this in more serious way.
